Every KC Legends player, regardless of gender, trains under the same player development methodology. Our girls teams are coached by the same caliber of licensed, experienced coaches as our boys programs. Many of our girls team coaches are former college players themselves, providing mentorship and role modeling alongside technical instruction. KC Legends invests in coaching education for all staff equally, ensuring that every team in our club, boys or girls, receives instruction from coaches who are continuously improving their craft through licenses, clinics, and professional development.

The soccer journey begins here. Toddlers and preschoolers develop motor skills, coordination, and a love of the ball through imaginative play in our indoor facility. This is the foundation where future college players take their first steps with a soccer ball. Classes run year-round with rolling enrollment.
Jr. Legends
CoedKindergarten - 2nd Grade
The bridge between HappyFeet and organized soccer. Jr. Legends develops individual ball skills, introduces basic game concepts, and builds the confidence to play independently. Players begin learning real soccer techniques like dribbling moves, shooting, and small-sided game awareness.
4v4 Leagues
Coed & Girls DivisionsAges 5-18
Small-sided competitive leagues that maximize ball touches and game involvement. 4v4 is the ideal format for skill development because every player is constantly engaged. Girls-specific divisions are available at most age groups. Eight-week seasons run throughout the year.

Girls-Only TeamsU8 - U19 Girls
Competitive travel soccer in Heartland Soccer League, the largest youth soccer league in the United States. Girls Club Premiere teams train twice per week, compete in league play and tournaments, and develop within a structured team environment. This is where serious competitive development begins.

KC Legends' top competitive tier. Elite64 girls teams compete at regional and national levels, participate in college showcase tournaments, and receive the highest level of coaching and competitive exposure. Players selected for Elite64 are on a path toward college soccer opportunities.

Competitive Opportunities for Girls
KC Legends girls teams compete in the most competitive leagues and tournaments available in the Kansas City region and beyond. Our goal is to provide the level of competition that challenges players to grow while maintaining a positive, development-focused environment.
League Play
KC Legends girls teams compete in Heartland Soccer League, the largest youth soccer league in the United States with over 1,400 teams. Heartland provides competitive matchups every weekend during the fall and spring seasons across multiple divisions, ensuring each team plays opponents at an appropriate competitive level. League play is the backbone of our competitive schedule.
Tournaments
Girls teams attend 3-5 tournaments per year, including regional events and college showcase tournaments for older age groups. Tournament play provides a different competitive experience than league: concentrated games over a weekend, exposure to teams from other states, and the intensity of bracket play where every game matters. Tournament selections are made with development goals and competitive readiness in mind.
College Showcases
For girls in the U15-U19 age groups who aspire to play college soccer, KC Legends participates in college showcase events where college coaches actively scout players. These events are scheduled strategically around the college recruiting calendar. Are KC Legends programs coed or girls-only?
KC Legends offers both coed and girls-only programming depending on the age and program tier. Our entry-level programs (HappyFeet ages 2-5 and Jr. Legends K-2nd grade) are coed because at these ages, boys and girls develop at the same rate and benefit from playing together. Our 4v4 leagues offer both coed and gender-specific divisions. Starting at the Club Premiere and Elite64 competitive levels, teams are organized by gender with dedicated girls teams at every age group from U8 through U19.
Is the tryout process the same for girls and boys?
Yes, the tryout process, evaluation criteria, and team selection methodology are identical for boys and girls programs. We evaluate all players on the same technical competencies: ball mastery, 1v1 ability, decision-making, competitive spirit, and coachability. Tryouts are held at the same facility during the same tryout week in June. Girls try out with other girls in their age group, and the evaluation rubric is consistent across all gender and age divisions. We believe equal standards produce equal development.

KC Legends has an entry point for every experience level. If your daughter has never played soccer, we recommend starting with HappyFeet (ages 2-5), Jr. Legends (K-2nd grade), or our Recreational program (ages 7+) depending on her age. These programs require zero prior experience and focus on building skills and confidence in a fun, low-pressure environment. When she is ready for competitive play, she can try out for Club Premiere or Elite64 teams. Many of our most successful competitive players started with no experience and developed entirely within the KC Legends system.
How much does girls soccer cost at KC Legends?
Costs vary by program level. HappyFeet starts at $80 per month. Jr. Legends and Recreational programs range from $100-$150 per season. 4v4 leagues are approximately $120 for an 8-week season. Club Premiere competitive teams range from $800-$1,600 per year depending on age group and includes league fees, tournament entry, coaching, and training. Elite64 teams range from $1,200-$2,200 per year for the highest level of competition and exposure. All competitive team fees can be paid in monthly installments.
